Dear Plum Market Guests:

I am writing to update you on Plum Market’s response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. We’ve always taken great pride in the cleanliness of our stores. In these unprecedented times our safety and sanitary procedures continue to evolve.  I wanted to take a moment to announce the latest updates we’ve rolled out in our stores to maximize social distancing and sanitation for our team members and our guests. On top of our rigorous cleaning procedures that go beyond CDC standards, we have implemented the following in all stores:

Distance Markers
We have implemented 6’ distance markers on the floor throughout our stores—not just at the checkouts—to help visually note the CDC’s recommended distancing.  We’ve posted signage reminding guests the importance of this responsible distancing, and Store Operations is politely reminding Team Members and Guests to distance when they see individuals too close together.

Safety Shields on Register Pods
We are in the process of installing Safety Shield plexiglass dividers on each of our register pods to provide a physical barrier between our Cashier Team Members and our guests.  Many stores now have these in place, and all stores will have them installed by the end of this week.

Individual Cart Sanitation Measures
We are disinfecting each cart and basket between each guest use, so that every guess will have a freshly disinfected cart upon arrival to the store. We’ve removed of all handbaskets within the store and only provide them at the front door to ensure proper disinfecting between each guest.

Limiting Store Capacity
We are limiting the number of guests within our stores to ensure proper distancing.  We are also limiting the number of Team Members working in offices, kitchens, and prep rooms.

Reusable Bags Not Allowed
In an effort to limit cross-contamination, we no longer allow any reusable bags in our stores.

Team Member Health & Safety
Our Team Members are our true heroes and their health and safety is of utmost importance. We’ve implemented the following CDC guidelines to ensure their safety and the safety of our guests.
  • All Team Members are required to wear clean gloves throughout their shift.  Cashiers are changing gloves between every guest and all other team members are changing gloves with increased frequency and after coming in contact with high touch areas. 
  • We’ve put door stops on doors in the offices, kitchens, and prep areas to reduce touch points.
  • We have implemented Daily Symptom Checks for all Team Members at all stores at the beginning of their shift and will follow CDC guidelines should any Team Member exhibit symptoms.
  • Team Members are required to let us know if they have been in contact with someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 and are being directed to self-quarantine for 14 days.
Please know that Plum Market is committed to staying open to support our communities in their time of need. We have commitments from our suppliers to continue their deliveries that keep us stocked on all key items, and we will continue operating under our normal business hours of 8am – 10pm to best serve you.
