Details

As the Rhône River winds its way down from Switzerland through the length of France, emptying into the Mediterranean, it’s the dominating feature of the more than 40 distinct wine appellations that make up the “Rhône Valley”. Wine styles vary wildly, with powerful Syrah based reds in the north (Cornas, Crozes-Hermitage) and zesty, versatile Grenache based reds in the south (Côtes du Rhone, Gigondas, Châteauneuf). Juicy rosés abound and rich whites, just a fraction of production, are made from Roussanne and Marsanne.

Winegrowing is a time-honored tradition here, with fresh innovation from the sons and daughters of the new generation. Tonight’s adventure will include Saint Joseph from talented brothers Eric & Joel Durand, Châteauneuf-du-Pape from Font-du-Loup’s lovely spirited winemaker Anne-Charlotte, and Crozes-Hermitage from the formidable Graillot father–son team at Domaine de Lises. Join us as we explore the region best beloved by wine professionals for its sheer diversity, quality and value!
