Details

The Pacific Northwest is famous in wine circles for Oregon’s Pinot Noir and for Bordeaux varieties in Washington State, with Syrah making a serious statement too. The reds tend to command more consumer respect than their white counterparts and often demand equal gravitas from our pockets! That said, white wines from both of these states are beautiful, not to be over-looked, often with a very attractive price-to-quality ratio. In Oregon, Pinot Gris has always been a treat, but the other grapes making a splash include Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc, with more esoteric varieties like Müller Thurgau sending friendly waves too. Super-fine Riesling has long reigned as Queen in Washington, but Sauv Blanc and Semillon have bright merit and big fans. We’ll showcase all these as well as other neat whites, including Rhone varieties.
