2004 Veuve Clicquot 'La Grande Dame' Brut Rose
La Grande Dame Rosé 2004 also contains red wine (15%) made entirely of Pinot Noir from Bouzy. Most of the grapes come from Clos Colin, one of our best vineyards, situated right in the centre of this Grand Cru.
Tasting Notes: On the palate, the wine is substantial and full-bodied. The texture is crisp and silky. The minerality of the chalk resonates brilliantly with its meaty structure and amplifies the length of the finish.
Vinous - "(effectively the same blend as the "regular" Grande Dame, with the addition of still pinot noir from Bouzy; LAAAQAQ): Vivid orange-pink. Seductively perfumed aromas of ripe red berries, Asian spices, rose and smoky minerals. Densely packed and palate-staining, offering vibrant red and dark berry flavors, along with floral pastille and buttered toast qualities. The strikingly long finish repeats the red fruit and mineral notes and lingers with serious tenacity."
Wine Enthusiast - "This has a toasty edge that complements the ripe red fruit and attractive lemon and yeast character. It seems to be well on its way to maturity, retaining a fruity style while its flavors are beginning to dig deeper."
