2013 Domaine de la Pousse d'Or Corton Clos du Roi Grand Cru
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - "The 2013 Corton Clos du Roi Grand Cru is tight-lipped on the nose, but there is plenty of ripe dark cherry and cassis fruit waiting to spring forth. There is fine clarity and focus here. The palate is medium-bodied and much spicier than the Corton Bressandes: black pepper, cloves and a touch of thyme and here it fans out beautifully on the finish. What a gorgeous Clos du Roi in the making! 92-94pts"
Burghound - "A brooding and all but inexpressive nose only grudgingly reveals its more complex and notably more sauvage aromas of various dark berry fruit, earth and floral scents. There is excellent power and punch to the more imposingly-scaled big-bodied flavors that also possess admirably mid-palate concentration before culminating in a long, serious, mouth coating and moderately austere finish. Unlike the Bressandes this is going to require longer to come around and I wouldn’t touch a bottle before it has at least 10 years of age. 2028+"
Vinous - "Saturated ruby-red. Wild black raspberry, boysenberry and a whiff of cinders on the nose; very ripe but not yet expressive. Fat, sweet and round on entry, then densely packed in the mid-palate, with purple fruit and dark plum flavors accented by a note of black pepper. Finishes quite backward, with fine-grained, spicy tannins avoiding dryness. 92+"
