Winemaker Notes: Notes of bay leaf, dried cranberries, cassis and deep dark berries with a touch of spice on the nose. It flows over the palate - plush, velvety, with more dark berries, granite and tobacco. Wraps up with a smooth finish of coffee, clove and a touch of tart cherry.
HARVEST NOTES The 2014 growing season was marked by kind weather, a few curveballs and an abundant crop. Combining mountain character and valley suppleness, this is a dynamic and authentic wine. Topography matters. Style matters. This wine is crafted to enjoy immediately on it’s own or with food.
VINEYARDS Haymaker - An eastern-facing Howell Mountain vineyard, located in a frost free zone between the valley floor and mountain top with ancient marine sedimentary soils. Triere – Our valley floor Oak Knoll district vineyard is located at 100’ elevation with soils that consist of Cortina stony loam coupled with Yolo clay loam that provide excellent drainage.
