Winemaker Notes: Although it might seem like an old established winery Marqués de Cáceres was just launched in 1970. The vines for Gaudium are located in San Vicente and Cenicero (Rioja Alta) and they are 40-100 years old. Low yields (3,500 kg/ha), hand-harvested, sorting table, 18-24 months in new French oak. Rioja integrated style.

Wine Enthusiast - "Meaty berry and plum aromas are dark and solid. A saturated palate shows full extraction of ripe Tempranillo fruit; but in the end, this feels a bit blocky and stumpy. Blackberry, vanilla and savory spice notes finish mostly with creamy oak and latent vanilla. This is ripe, intense, oaky and powerful. Drink through 2030. "
