CRITICAL ACCLAIM
Vinous - "Good full red. Wild aromas of musky plum, chocolate and graphite nicely complemented by underbrush and faded flowers. Savory, flinty and deep, with lovely energy and nuance to the musky red and dark fruit flavors, complemented by underbrush and soil tones. Compellingly chewy and rich on the long finish, this should evolve gracefully for many years. Made from 60-80 year old vines grown at 560 meters above sea level, the wine is aged 18-24 months in a mix of French and Slavonian oak barrels. Drink: 2022-2028. "
Wine Enthusiast - "Sourced from a vineyard over sixty years old in the village of Ginestra, this red offers a perfumed nose of cinnamon, clove and brandy-dipped cherries. There polish and poise to the medium-bodied palate, as the juicy mix of berries melds with a zesty crushed mineral core. That mineral note brings immense lift and length to it all. Velvety tannins give it an approachable vibe in the near term, but this should hold well through 2030. Alcohol 13.5%."
Wine Spectator - "Dark and brambly black raspberry, mulberry and fragrant herb notes are seamlessly knit with fine-grained tannins in this dense, full-bodied red. Sleek and sculpted, with no excess fat, yet abundantly expressive, offering aromatic ripe fruit, accented by lavender, saffron and graphite elements. Fresh and focused on the lasting finish. Best from 2022 through 2030. 450 cases made, 150 cases imported."
