2015 Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage Rose Champagne
Winemaker Notes: Initial aromas of dark berries. Hints of fig and wild strawberry combine with spicy notes of pink and aromatic peppercorn, and allspice. The fruit is concentrated, dark and deep. The tannins create angles, revealing facets like a jewel in the rough. A mouthwatering bitterness of sloe and cranberry with notes of mint and aniseed refreshes the finish.
Blend: 52% Pinot Noir, 27% Chardonnay, 21% Meunier.
CRITICAL ACCLAIM
Vinous - "The 2015 Extra-Brut Rosé Grand Vintage is one of the best Champagnes I have tasted from Moët & Chandon in some time. Rich and vinous in the glass, with terrific persistence, the 2015 exudes class from start to finish. All the elements are so well balanced. Hints of crushed raspberry, rose petal and blood orange lend a beguiling air of exoticism. The Rosé is at once deep and yet also light on its feet. I loved it."
Wine Spectator - "This rich, tawny-hued sparkling rosé is sleek and shaped by well-honed acidity, with a plushness to the mousse as this carries flavors of plum skin, macerated raspberry, toasted almond, pink grapefruit zest and oyster shell. Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier. Disgorged February 2022. Drink now through 2030."
Jeb Dunnuck - "A deep pink, almost magenta color, the 2015 Champagne Grand Vintage Extra Brut Rose is predominantly Pinot Noir, with 27% Chardonnay and 21% Meunier. Forward with spiced aromas of fresh fennel, blood orange, graham cracker, and cranberry preserve, the palate is ripe, with an elegant mousse that enhances its spice and structure, as well as a delicate, chalky textured finish that has the bones to stand up to more time in bottle nicely."
