2016 Chateau La Clare Medoc
Winemaker Notes: Atypical for the Medoc, the vineyards of Chateau La Clare are planted 45% Merlot 35% Cabernet Sauvignon 15% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot because of the high proportion of clay in the soil. After fermentation the wine spends 12 months in French oak barriques, 60% new and 40% one year old. A soft approachable red with mixed red and black fruits with round and firm tannins.
Wine Enthusiast - "This is a stylish wine, showing the rich structure of the vintage while at the same time reveling in juicy black fruits and acidity. The wine's balance is already showing well and promises potential. Drink from 2023."
