2017 Bel Lago Auxerrois 'Moreno Vineyard Reserve' Leelanau Peninsula

Beautiful Lake. Bel Lago was founded in 1987 by Domenic, Ruth and Amy Lezzoni and winemaker Charlie Edson. Located on a hill above the western shore, the tasting room has view of the southern end of Lake Leeelanau. Auxerrois is related to Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The French pronunciation is oh-zher-WAH. Pinot Blanc from Alsace can contain a portion of Auxerrois. Bel Lago's is 30% fermented in neutral French oak and aged on the lees just long enough to gain richness without sacrificing the tropical fruit flavors.
