2017 Bouchard Pere et Fils Beaune du Château Premier Cru Blanc Beaune
Winemaker Notes: Pale gold/ gold color with green shades. The nose is made of white fleshfruit, candied citrus aromas with a hint of brioche and ginger bread. The mouth associates richness, subtle oak, taste of dried fruit. Pleasantly rich wine.
Pairs well with fine cooked meats, meat pies, warm pâté, snails.
100% Chardonnay, sourced from 9.92 hectacres of limestone, clay, and marl soil of 4 Beaune Premier Cru vineyards chosen for their complimentary qualities. Aged for 9 to 10 months in French oak; up to 15% new oak.
CRITICAL ACCLAIM
Decanter - "Part of the Bouchard range since 1907, this wine features 17 of the extensive lineup of Beaune premiers crus, grown on a mixture of soil types. Part of Frédéric Weber's skill lies in the blending of all these different cuvées to produce a wine that's textured, floral and sweet, with subtle reduction, some whole-bunch spice and a backdrop of 35% new wood."
James Suckling - "Peaches on the nose with an edge of spiced toffee. The palate has a very plush and fleshy feel with plenty of fruit delivered into the finish."
