2017 Dosio 'Serradenari' Barolo Piedmont
Winemaker Notes: Garnet red. On the nose, violet, rose and cherry fragrances that evolve into a pleasant balsamic note as well as a hay hint Pleasingly dry and full thanks to its excellent balance between the acidity and the noble tannins of the Nebbiolo.
Dosio is built over the foundations of an 18th farmhouse, high at the southern end of La Morra. It is within the Serradenari MGA*, the highest of all Barolo’s named vineyards, where, on a clear day, there are unhindered views from Monviso to the Monte Rosa. The estate was bought by the Lanci family in 2010, Gianfranco had a genuine passion for wine and set about making the changes needed for Dosio to reach its true potential. Gianfranco Cordero was brought in to oversee the winemaking and Andrea Faccio as an experienced managing director.
CRITICAL ACCLAIM
Vinous - "The 2017 Barolo Serradenari is bright, effusive and beautifully lifted. Sweet black cherry, plum, lavender, spice, and menthol bring out darker shades of Nebbiolo. The 2017 is vibrant and energetic, but it also has enough fruit to fill out its frame. I can't wait to taste it from bottle. Range: 90-93. "
