2017 Dr. Pauly-Bergweiler Graacher Himmelreich Riesling Kabinett Mosel
Winemaker Notes: Day bright yellow-straw hue. Aromas of red apples, verbena, and wet stones precede a palate dripping with juicy white nectarines, Asian pears, and tarragon-scented honey with hints of smoke and white pepper on the finish. This is an energetically balanced off-dry Riesling with great weight and precision on the mid-palate. Perfect, in other words, with Szechuan-peppered crab. Enjoy now through 2024.
CRITICAL ACCLAIM
Wine & Spirits - "From Himmelreich’s blue-gray slate, this is fragrant and filigreed, scents of jasmine and lime leaf leading into notes of lime, apple and mango. While it’s on the sweet side of Kabinett, the gentle richness of the texture supports it fully, and the acidity wings through the wine to keep it light, lively and clean."
Wine Enthusiast - "Dusty mineral notes accent pristine lemon on the nose of this light-footed but powerful Riesling. It's a sprightly, punchy Kabinett, pulsating with concentrated white grapefruit and lime flavors yet anchored by tones of steel and slate. The finish is long, accentuated by citrusy acidity. Enjoy now–2027."
