2017 Tikal Natural Organic Red Blend Mendoza

Winemaker Notes: This is Malbec and Syrah in their most natural expression of untouched grapes shining through and capturing the true essence of the biodynamic vineyard where they were picked. It has a beautiful pomegranate color and aroma of fresh red cherries with light French oak undertones. The palate is fresh and lively with black raspberry and spiced mocha notes.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - "The blend of 60% Malbec and 40% Syrah, the 2017 Natural is a brand that was born before the movement of "natural" wines, but now Ernesto Catena works in biodynamic agriculture and got interested in "natural" wines. The Syrah fermented with full clusters and fermented together with the destemmed Malbec. It has a young profile with some aromas of beeswax and honey, wild berries and herbs, pure and clean. It matured in concrete vats, and it didn't see any oak to preserve the wild character. It's juicy and has an approachable and soft palate with tasty flavors, good freshness and no heat."
