2018 Clos Figueras 'Font de la Figuera' Tinto Priorat
Winemaker Notes: Red wine ripe cherry color with bright violet rim denoting youth. Wild red fruit flavors and fine toasted oak. The entry is fresh, gourmand and elegant with the classic mineral touch of the Priorat. A long lingering finish rounds of the wine with freshness and elegance.
CRITICAL ACCLAIM
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - "The red blend 2018 Font de la Figuera is composed of 58% Garnacha and 25% Cariñena and the rest 10% Syrah and 7% Cabernet Sauvignon from their vineyards in Gratallops on the classical llicorella slate soils from Priorat. It fermented in stainless steel and some used oak barrels and matured in French oak barrels for 12 months. It's very Priorat, with power, contained ripeness and nice freshness; it has a note of graphite and earth and very fine tannins and is nicely balanced, combining clout and elegance. This is a cuvée of 9,000 to 10,000 bottles per year. The 2018 was bottled in February. I really like this 2018."
