2018 Domaine Dujac Puligny Montrachet 'Les Folatieres' 1er Cru

Winemaker Notes:  The Puligny Montrachet appelation is in the Côte de Beaune, known for the greatest of the Burgandian whites in and around the Montrachet vineyard. The Les Folatieres vineyard sits between 820 feet to 985 feet of elevation on clay and limestone. Made from organically farmed Chardonnay grapes.

CRITICAL ACCLAIM


Burghound - "There is a whiff of the exotic in the form of pineapple wisps that combine with notes of acacia blossom and various white-fleshed fruit aromas. The lush and opulent yet relatively refined medium-bodied flavors possess slightly better mid-palate density, all wrapped in a youthfully austere but not quite as dry finale. This isn't classically styled but there's clearly more here. (90-93pts)"


Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - "The 2018 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Folatières was showing well, wafting from the glass with aromas of pear, citrus oil, nutmeg and warm pastry, followed by a medium to full-bodied, racy and nicely defined palate that's long and intense. (91-93pts)"


John Gilman - "The 2018 Folatières from Fils et Père is a lovely and succulent example of the vintage. The ripe and generous nose offers up scents of apple, peach, a good base of chalky soil tones, vanillin oak, citrus zest and a topnote of white lilies. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and succulent at the core, with very good focus, cut and grip and a long, already quite complex finish. This is a lovely example of the vintage that could use a few years in the cellar to blossom fully, but which will be hard to resist out of the blocks."
