Winemaker Notes: The nine hectares of Haut Lieu have the richest soils and generally yield the most precocious wines.
CRITICAL ACCLAIM

Vinous - "The 2018 Moelleux Le Haut-Lieu is a gorgeous, exotic wine. Jasmine, lemon oil and ginger lead into a core of green orchard fruit as the 2018 shows off its considerable charms. A wine of absolutely exquisite beauty, the 2018 is precise and sculpted, with its sweetness very nicely integrated. Drink: 2020-2030. "

John Gilman - "The 2018 Moelleux from the Le Haut-Lieu vineyard from Domaine Huët is a lovely wine in the making, showing impressive depth and early complexity on both the nose and palate. The bouquet offers up a lovely blend of apple, sweet quince, just a hint of pineapple, honeycomb, chalky soil tones, lanolin and a topnote of dried flowers. On the palate the wine is bright, full-bodied, focused and complex, with lovely delineation and length, sound acids and very good grip on the refined and elegant finish. This is obviously still a baby and needs decades to reach full maturity, but I have the sense that this is going to drink very well through much of its climb to peak maturity. It is a very elegant rendition of Le Haut-Lieu Moelleux, though the ripeness of the 2018 vintage is also evident. 2029-2100."

Wine Spectator - "Round and harmonious, with a suave texture and notes of ripe Bosc pear, white peach and elderflower. Shows hints of brioche and glaze, while the acidity cuts through, giving this balance and vibrancy. Drink now through 2033"
