2018 Louis Jadot Chassagne-Montrachet Cote de Beaune
Situated in the south of the Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet is one of the five villages that make up the prestigious Côte des Blancs. At altitudes varying from 250 to 350 meters, the vineyards benefit from exposures ranging from east to south and southwest and the wine comes mainly from marly limestone soils. After a long fermentation in tanks, the wine is aged in barrel before bottling.
This was a somewhat turbulent growing season. Lack of soil moisture and a poor fruit set diminished the harvest volumes.
Full-bodied and rich white with exotic citrus fruit flavors and candied floral notes.

Burghound - "A pure, airy and cool if highly restrained nose speaks of the essence of what orchard fruit, citrus confit, acacia and an impressive array of spice elements. The refined if not super dense broad-shouldered flavors still pack plenty of punch on the powerful and impressively persistent finish. This is a lovely combination of power and refinement."
