2018 Tollot Beaut 'Les Vercots' 1er Cru Aloxe-Corton

Winemaker Notes: Tollot-Beaut's Les Vercots Premier Cru is rustic and robust with aromas and flavors of red cherries, spice, and earth with substantial weight and ripe tannins. Red Burgundy might be the world's most flexible food wine. The wine's high acidity, medium body, medium alcohol, and low tannins make it very food-friendly.

Vinous - "The 2018 Aloxe-Corton Les Vercots 1er Cru comes from a single hectare replanted 15 years ago with Pinot Très Fin, which Nathalie Tollot told me has "looser bunches to prevent rot." It has a very pretty, quite intense bouquet of raspberry, wild strawberry and wet limestone aromas that are well defined. The medium-bodied palate delivers very supple tannin and a keen line of acidity. Fresh and vibrant, with a slightly peppery and sustained finish. This is perhaps my pick of Tollot-Beaut’s Premier Crus this vintage. Excellent. Range: 91-93"
