Wine Spectator - "A dynamic blend, combining deep structure with finesse and polish, this features black cherry and cassis flavors laced with toasty spice, red licorice and a hint of dusty herbs as it builds tension toward refined tannins. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. Drink now through 2030."
James Suckling - "Black fruit, chocolate, cedar and dried spices on the nose. Medium-to full-bodied with fine tannins and fresh acidity. Balanced, with delicious chocolate-cherry character and a chalky texture. A blend of 49% merlot, 47% cabernet sauvignon and 4% petit verdot. Try from 2023."
Jeb Dunnuck - "The 2019 Proprietary Red Oakcross checks in as 49% Merlot, 47% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the rest Petit Verdot. It’s a plush, medium to full-bodied, juicy, almost racy red that offers impressive blueberry and macerated cherry-like fruit mixed with plenty of spice and chocolate notes. It’s a terrific blend to drink over the coming decade or so."
