Winemaker Notes: A generous and elegant wine. Light golden color. Intense nose of flower, brioche, and candied lemon aromas, evolving towards nuances of grilled hazelnut and spice as the wine matures. On the palate, the wine is straightforward, with a nice texture and finesse. It has a long aftertaste where floral and gingerbread notes dominate.
This vintage produced wines of various styles, some with a rather high acidity level, others offering roundness. The main factor has been the frost. The vines hit by this severe spring frost very often matured later, giving fairly nervous wines, whereas the plots spared by frost reached a more precocious maturity. Many beautiful wines in this multi-faceted vintage.
CRITICAL ACCLAIM

James Suckling - “Generous ripe citrus and pineapple with a touch of vanilla, the healthy tannins nicely supporting the generous body. Robust but well-balanced finish. Drink or hold.”

Burghound - "Distinctly different aromas include those of petrol, rosemary oil and lemongrass. Here too there is fine density to the less refined but more powerful middle weight flavors that possess the same solid complexity on the mildly rustic finale that is almost tannic. This too is an excellent villages and worthy of your interest. I would add that while it could easily be enjoyed young, there appears to be plenty of upside development potential."

Decanter - "The wine is rich, tending towards tropical fruit, with notes of ripe apple touched with honey on the nose. On the palate, the texture is just balanced by the acidity, but the overall effect is slightly heavy. Produced from must purchased from five different suppliers; only the free-run juice is fermented in cask, before ageing in cask for one year (25% new)."
