2019 Villa Calcinaia 'Cappone' Chianti Classico Tuscany

Winemaker Notes: The 'Cappone' Chianti Classico displays elegant notes of red cherry, cranberry and mineral aromas. Smooth, medium-bodied, and fruity, reflective of the dominant Sangiovese grape. This is a delicious and crowd-pleasing dry wine with vibrant red fruit flavours, soft tannins and a bright acidity, rendering it incredibly food friendly. Pair it with tomato-based creations, such as pizza and pasta. It also pairs wonderfully with charcuterie and cheese boards – a no-brainer! – or with rich meat-based dish like the Bistecca alla Fiorentina.

Villa Calcinaia is located in the heart of Chianti Classico, near the village of Greve-in-Chianti. This Tuscan estate has been home to the Capponi family since 1524.
