2019 Vincent Girardin 'Blanchot-Dessus' 1er Cru Chassagne-Montrachet
CRITICAL ACCLAIM
Burghound - Here too a deft application of wood serves as a relatively neutral backdrop for the cool, pure and airy nose that displays mostly essence of pear, floral and pretty spice wisps. The supple yet concentrated and quite serious big-bodied flavors flash evident power and muscle on the explosive and almost painfully intense finish that is also compact and backward. I would suggest allowing this at least 5 years of cellaring but it should amply reward a decade plus of it. In a word, terrific. Sweet spot Outstanding (93-95pts)"
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - "The 2019 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Blanchots Dessus is another of the portfolio's highlights. Mingling aromas of pear, orange oil and confit citrus with hints of clear honey, white flowers, fresh pastry and hazelnuts, it's full-bodied, satiny and ample, with an enveloping core of fruit, lively acids and a sensual, seamless profile. This is one of the most dramatic wines in the range. Best after 2023.
