2019 Vincent Girardin '1er Cru La Romanée' Chassagne-Montrachet
CRITICAL ACCLAIM
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - "The 2019 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru La Romanée is another tiny but brilliant cuvée from Eric Germain. Mingling notions of pear, peach and orange oil with hints of fresh mint, warm bread, pastry cream and nutmeg, it's full-bodied, satiny and enveloping, with an ample core of fruit, tangy acids and chalky structuring extract. Deep and seamless, it's well worth seeking out."
Burghound - "A deft application of wood frames the vaguely exotic aromas of passion fruit, apricot and white peach along with whiffs of citrus confit. The medium-bodied flavors are not quite as dense but they're sleeker with plenty of minerality on the firm, compact and austere finale. This also flashes focused power as well as outstanding depth and persistence for such a young wine and overall, this is excellent and exceptionally promising though I would underscore that it's presently a firm block so at least some patience is essential. Sweet spot Outstanding (92-94pts)"
