CRITICAL ACCLAIM
James Suckling - "A medium-to full-bodied red with blackberry, chocolate, walnut and spice character. Creamy and juicy tannins and a long, flavorful finish."
Vinous - "The 2020 Desmirail is a gorgeous, promising wine. Silky tannins wrap around a core of inky red/purplish fruit, lavender, rose petal, spice, menthol and mocha are all framed by discreet oak. Plush, sensual and inviting, Desmirail has so much to recommend it. Sweet floral accents and a kick of sweet spice brighten up the finish. This is very nicely done."
Jeb Dunnuck - "Another terrific Margaux in the appellation, the 2020 Château Desmirail boasts loads of black raspberry and darker berry fruits as well as a slightly modern feel in its classy oak, chocolate, and spice-driven aromas and flavors. Broad and medium-bodied, with velvety tannins as well as outstanding length, it should certainly be an outstanding wine and have 15+ years of longevity, if not more."
Decanter - "Smoked oak on the nose. This shows elegant fruits, with a silky texture, and a deftness to the winemaking. It dips through the mid palate however and could do with a little more generosity to the fruits to really carry off its intention. A yield of 40hl/ha. Tasted twice."
