John Gilman - "The 2020 Corton-Charlemagne from Domaine Chartron is going to be an excellent wine. The bouquet is deep, young and vibrant, delivering scents of apple, pear, a beautiful base of stony limestone soil, spring flowers and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, focused and rock solid at the core, with an excellent girdle of acidity, fine mineral drive and cut and a long, balanced and racy finish. Fine, fine juice. 2030-2070"


Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - "The 2020 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru is more demonstrative than the Puligny-Montrachet premiers crus, bursting with aromas of pear, peach, orange oil, white flowers and freshly baked bread. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and open-knit, with lively acids and a saline finish, it's a creditable effort. Always an early picker, Jean-Michel Chartron began his harvest on August 14, chaptalizing some of his cuvées. The result is a set of fine-boned, delicate wines that are certainly nicely balanced, but which lack a bit of concentration and mid-palate plenitude to my palate, and which in some instances display a discreet herbaceous streak. Picking early served Jean-Michel very well in several recent vintages, most notably 2015, but I wonder whether it was the right choice in 2020. (91-93pts) "


Vinous - "The 2020 Chevalier-Montrachet Clos de Chevaliers Grand Cru totals 6 barrels this year. Wonderful mineralité on the nose here: this is tensile, energetic with a subtle sea cave aroma that gains intensity in the glass. The palate is very well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, taut and fresh with discrete tropical veins towards the harmonious finish, a hint of frangipane on the aftertaste. Superb. (90-92pts)"


Burghound - "Attractively layered aromas of smoked Granny Smith apples, mineral reduction and white flowers are trimmed in mildly toasty oak. There is even better volume to the very punchy medium weight plus flavors that exhibit good power on the succulent, clean, moderately dry and sappy finale. This too would benefit from having better depth but that should progressively improve with time in bottle."
