2020 Domaine Pierre Guillemot 'Les Grands Picotins' Rouge Savigny-les-Beaune
Winemaker's Notes: This is certainly the darkest, smokiest Picotins I have ever seen. Atypical, perhaps (usually quite light and discreet), but also quite an accomplishment. It has all the goodness a hot vintage can bring (complexity and grip for example) yet retains all the charm of this little-known terroir. It’s surprisingly fresh and delicate despite its appearance, in no small part thanks to the organic conversion in the vineyards and absolute minimal sulfur being used here, and across the range now. —Chris Santini
CRITICAL ACCLAIM
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - "Like its 2019 predecessor, the 2020 Savigny-lès-Beaune Grands Picotins is an unusually charming rendition of a cuvée that can sometimes be a touch structured out of the gates. Revealing aromas of cherries, raspberries, rose petals and warm spices, it's medium to full-bodied, velvety and enveloping, with a concentrated core of fruit, powdery tannins and a long, perfumed finish."
