2020 Louis Jadot Meursault Cote de Beaune
Winemaker Notes: Maison Louis Jadot Meursault have a fragrant, ripe, full fruited bouquet which is confirmed on the palate, a generous, supple texture and the distinctive hazelnut and spice nuances which carry into a persistent finish of great finesse. Meursault is rich enough to match foods like fish in a cream sauce, shellfish, poultry with cream and white meat. It can be aged for 8 to 15 years in good conditions of temperature and humidity.
Meursault is 100% Chardonnay, fermented in wooden barrels and aged 15 months in the barrels before bottling.
CRITICAL ACCLAIM
Burghound - "Ripe and very pretty aromas of hazelnut, apple compote and subtle spice nuances complement the nicely textured and energetic medium-bodied flavors that terminate in a fresh and sappy finish that is supported by bright acidity. This agreeably dry and solidly persistent finish is very good for its level and worth checking out. (89-91pts)"
Vinous - "The 2020 Meursault Villages has a fresh bouquet, quite vivacious with yellow plum, Golden Delicious and a touch of wild peach. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, orange pith and peach skin notes, quite complex on the finish. Frederic Barnier reminded me that this is not the finished blend, but hopefully any final additions will maintain this quality and my score is based on that assumption. (89-91pts)
