2020 Louis Jadot Pommard Cote de Beaune
Burghound - "This is actually quite aromatically similar to the straight Pommard but with a bit better layering. There is however notably better size, weight and volume to the medium weight plus flavors that possess a caressing and highly seductive, indeed almost velvety, texture that is primarily due to the abundance of dry extract that helps to buffer the very firm, dusty and decidedly austere finale. Many of these 2020s in the Jadot range could reasonably approached in their youth but this particular example, excellent though it may be, isn't one of them. Barrel Sample: 91-93"
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - "Aromas of sweet berries, orange rind and raw cocoa preface the 2020 Pommard Village (Maison Louis Jadot), a medium to full-bodied, ripe and fleshy wine framed by powdery tannins and succulent acids. This has turned out well. (89-91pts)"
Wine Spectator - "A sturdy red, evoking cherry, raspberry, clay and iron flavors. Reveals tannins that have a burly feel, despite being balanced with the other elements. Lingers nicely, echoing fruit, earth and spices on the finish. Best from 2025 through 2038. 720 cases made, 360 cases imported."
