2020 Moric Blaufrankisch Burgenland

Weingut Moric was founded in 2002 by Roland Velich who wanted to make delicate wines, rather than the heavy, muscular wines other Austrian winemakers were making from Blaufranksich. He looked for the oldest Blaufrankisch vines he could find and came upon them in the Mittelburgenland. High elevation 85 year old vines in limestone soil yield excellent quality fruit that Velich crafts to express the terroir.

This wine is intensely aromatic, lots of ripe cherries and spice. Really delicious.
