2020 Skouras 'Megas Oenos' Agiorgitiko Peloponnese
Winemaker Notes: Intense deep garnet color with violet highlights. The nose has depth, concentration, complexity, but also finesse. Aromas of red and black fruits. Such as raspberry and cherry, blueberry and blackberry along with spices, tobacco and leather notes. On the palate it is silky but robust with gentle tannins and balanced acidity, the aromas of red and black fruits, cloves, black pepper and a touch of herbs stand out. Long aftertaste with great complexity.
CRITICAL ACCLAIM
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - "In a heavy glass bottle, the Domaine Skouras 2020 Megas Oenos is a blend of 80% Agiorgitiko and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. This unfiltered wine has a savory bouquet with evident oak tones of cigar and cedar that fold into black and purple fruits. It ferments and ages in new French barrique for 18 months. The oak frames the dark fruit quite nicely for balanced results. The wine's crisp acidity does stand out and you get grippy tannins to close. "
