2020 Velenosi 'Brecciarolo' Rosso Piceno Superiore Marche
Winemaker Notes: Brecciarolo wine was born together with the Velenosi wine estate, being the first wine to be produced. Its name derives from the Brecciarolo hill (in Ascoli Piceno), where the estate’s headquarter is based. This is their most important wine, which quickly became a symbol for the Marche territory and well known all around the globe. Brecciarolo can be considered Velenosi’s flagship wine and the core of their production.
CRITICAL ACCLAIM
Vinous - "The 2020 Rosso Piceno Superiore Brecciarolo bursts from the glass with a spicy mix of crushed black cherries, grilled herbs and ashen stone. This is soft-textured yet juicy in character with rosy inner florals that resonate over a core of ripe Montepulciano fruit. This leaves a staining of concentration yet maintains wonderful energy as a burst of residual acidity keeps the mouth watering for more. The Velenosi Rosso Piceno Superiore represents tremendous value. This is a blend of 70% Montepulciano and 30% Sangiovese."
