Winemaker Notes: The grapes come from the oldest vineyard of the Domaine de la Solitude planted by my great-grandfather at the beginning of the last century. It is located on the western slope of Crau on a terroir of safre. Planted mainly with centennial Grenache this plot gives exceptional maturities. 100% black Grenache. This great Terroir is always vinified separately but only the great years, 5 vintages of the last 10 the Cornelia Constanza is bottled.
CRITICAL ACCLAIM
James Suckling - "Extremely perfumed, graceful and silky, this is an extremely sensual and beautifully balanced expression of grenahce. Full-bodied, but light as air. I love the floral and creme de cassis aromas. Super-long finish. "
Jeb Dunnuck - "One of the vintage’s strongest efforts is the 2021 Châteauneuf Du Pape Cornelia Constanza, a 100% Grenache all from the sandy soils near the estate that was brought up mostly in concrete, with 30% each in foudre and new barrels. Gorgeous wild strawberries, redcurrants, peppery herbs, sandalwood, and loamy earth define the aromatics, and it’s medium-bodied, has a supple, elegant mouthfeel, and a beautiful finish. It will shine for a solid 8-10 years. "
