CRITICAL ACCLAIM

John Gilman - "Les Pruliers can often be a bit of a grumpy adolescent at this point in its evolution, but this is emphatically not the case with the Gouges family’s 2021 version, as this wine is already defined by the inherent elegance of the vintage. The nose delivers a fine mix of cassis, dark berries, saddle leather, bonfire, espresso, grilled venison, dark soil tones, some of those beautiful Chartreuse-like botanicals, a nice touch of oak and a top note of currant leaf. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and pure, with a superb core, ripe, chewy tannins, fine balance and a long, focused and nascently complex finish. This will be stellar juice in the fullness of time. 2036-2100."

Vinous - "The 2021 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Pruliers 1er Cru comes across a little muted on the nose compared to its peers, maybe just a little subdued, though it will open with bottle age. The palate is medium-bodied with chalky tannins, citrus-fresh with a little more weight towards the finish. This conveys perhaps the most energy from Gouge's white 2021 with fine persistency on the aftertaste. Classy."

Burghound - "Note: from a 1.3 ha parcel with a mix of 80% 75+ year old vines and the remainder of 15 to 20-year-old vines. A cool, pure and distinctly earthy nose combines plum and dark berry aromas with plenty of sauvage and a hint of game. I very much like the texture of the highly energetic, sappy and rich medium weight flavors that immediately firms up on the rustic, robust and markedly powerful finish. This is very Pruliers in style and a wine that's going to need extended patience. *Outstanding* (91-93pts)"
