2021 Jean-Paul Brun Domaine des Terres Dorees Morgon Cote du Py Javernieres
Winemaker Notes: Jean-Paul is a very traditional winemaker who makes food-friendly wines of serious note at Domaine Terres Dorees. There is great complexity and concentration, along with the juicy fruit associated with Beaujolais, in his wines. He achieves this with minimum intervention and steers clear of manipulating the wines via carbon maceration, thermo-vinification and yeast inoculation which have become the norm in Beaujolais. He also believes his wines taste better at lower alcohol levels so does not add extra sugar (chapitalise) to raise alcohol levels.
CRITICAL ACCLAIM
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - "The 2021 Morgon Côte du Py Javernières is a taut, structured wine that will demand a little patience, even in this giving vintage. Offering up aromas of plums, red berries, sweet spices and licorice, it's medium to full-bodied, deep and vibrant, with powdery tannins and tangy acids. Best After 2023 Rating : 92+"
