2022 Domaine Faiveley Mercurey 'Clos Rochette - Monopole' Blanc Cote de Chalonnaise 1.5L
Winemaker Notes: This parcel neighbors La Framboisière. The soils in Clos Rochette are very compact, hard to plough, and scattered with small rocks that give this climat its name. This parcel has been one of Domaine’s monopoles since 1933.
Tasting Notes: This wine reveals exceptionally complex aromas and a fresh nose offering white flowers and spices. The lively attack gives way to a smooth, oily palate thanks to its oak ageing. The flavors and aromas combine harmoniously resulting in a beautifully elegant wine.
CRITICAL ACCLAIM
James Suckling - "This is brimming with flinty character that lights up the restrained citrus and pear fruit on the generous, medium-bodied palate. Very long, elegant, fresh finish with a salty minerality that gives it excellent tension. From a five-hectare monopole site. From organically grown grapes. Matured two thirds in oak, mostly in 300-liter barrels, and one third in stainless steel. Drink or hold."
