2022 Fait-Main 'Teeter-Totter' Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley
Winemaker Notes: Benoit Touquette is charming, charismatic, and unabashedly fun, pure fun. The magic of his personality comes through with his fun-loving label: Teeter-Totter. It is as thrilling and as memorable as cannonballing into a swimming pool as a rambunctious child or a carefree adult! The varietal variations from vintage to vintage are what keep it interesting and endlessly enchanting for all of us. Teeter-Totter is the type of wine that we whole-heartedly love to adore - it needs no explanation for its flirtatious nature, its effortless grace and balance shines from the moment you pop the cork until the very last drop, and best of all, it’s ready to drink NOW! Benoit is a mastermind winemaker who has been awarded innumerous 100-point scores from Robert Parker for the wines he has produced for Realm, in addition to other brands we cherish and champion with pride: Jack Quinn, Kata and Fait-Main. He was Andy Erickson's right-hand man a moon or two ago, and the protégé of the world's top consulting winemaker: Michel Rolland. So, let’s be crystal clear, he is a ‘Cabernet Genius’ and his Teeter-Totter is no exception. We sing the praises of this wine all year long, and when the new vintage comes around, it is our joy to shout its arrival from the rooftops announcing it to Benoit's diehard fans.
CRITICAL ACCLAIM
Decanter - "The 2022 Fait-Main 100% Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from top sites in Calistoga, Oakville, and St. Helena, presenting a stylish and polished expression of Napa Cabernet. Medium- to full-bodied, it showcases superfine tannins wrapped in a layered saline-acid tension, adding precision and lift. Bright, crisp pomegranate seed freshness drives the palate, alongside explosive blue fruit and violet notes, carrying through to a long, dry, and laser-focused finish. Aged 18 months in 75% new French oak, this is an elegant yet structured wine with vibrancy and finesse."
Jeb Dunnuck - "Coming from some top sites throughout the valley, the 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley is deep ruby/purple-hued and reveals plenty of cassis, leafy herbs, graphite, and tobacco-driven aromatics. This carries to a beautifully pure, layered, concentrated mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and outstanding length. It's a smoking value and a testament to talented winemaking in a challenging vintage. Drink bottles over the coming decade or so."
