Winemaker Notes: Our philosophy with the Le Caban Riesling each vintage is to produce a wine with perfect BALANCE, or, mixed up just a little, LE CABAN. In the case of Riesling, that balance is possible thanks to the interplay of acidity and sugar.
Balance isn’t achieved by pre-determined goals, but by listening to what the fruit from each vintage has to say. 2022 was a hotter summer, including during harvest. The acid in this wine is pronounced, and balanced with a medium to low amount of residual sugar. This is the kind of vintage that sustains our winemaker’s excitement for Riesling. The aging potential is infinite.
