Winemaker Notes: Vineyard 36 Foundation blend offers a powerful tension between cool-climate Merlot from Beckstoffer Las Amigas Vineyard in Carneros, matched with bold Cabernet Sauvignon from Candlestick Ridge Vineyard on Howell Mountain. The Merlot brings a captivating elegance, and rich, supple fruits, while the Howell Mount Cabernet contributes powerful depth and structure to the wine. Professional athletes Cam Ward and Tim Gleason and their friend Jason Earnest own Vineyard 36, and it’s one of my favorite brands that we discovered last year.
