2023 Massican 'Annia' White Blend California
Winemaker Notes: Massican's flagship white wine blend is sourced from small vineyards around the Napa Valley. The three grape varietals, Tocai Friulano, Ribolla Gialla and Chardonnay, are harvested separately and fermented independently in French Oak and stainless steel tanks until blending six weeks before bottling. The Tocai and Ribolla build the aroma and flavor profile of the wine, while the Chardonnay adds to the wine’s structure. Annia is fresh and subtle and fulfills the promise set forth years ago to bottle memorable white wines unique among the wines of California.
Blend: 43% Tocai Friulano, 34% Ribolla Gialla, 23% Chardonnay.
CRITICAL ACCLAIM
James Suckling - "In its 15th vintage, Massican is the only solely white wine producer in Napa Valley. This light-bodied blend of tocai friulano, ribolla gialla and chardonnay is inspired by Friuli in Italy and offers brisk mineral, citrus and floral aromas. Light-bodied, nicely tart and laden with stony, chalky elements and bitter lemon nuances. "
