2021 Reverdito 'Simane' Nebbiolo Piedmont
Winemaker Notes: Reverdito's wine story begins in the late sixties when Papa Silvano Reverdito purchased the first parcel of Bricco Cogni in La Morra. Now the winery has 22 hectares managed by son Michele Reverdito and daughter Sabine is head winemaker. They farm their vineyards sustainably and run the winery with care and precision. This Langhe Nebbiolo has a bright garnet color, with aromas of wild berries and violets. The palette is packed with fresh red fruit medium acidity and tannins with note of sweet herbs. A real crowd pleaser.
Madeline Triffon, M.S. Notes: What a beautiful wine, all value consideration aside, don’t hesitate! The nose is a celebration of Nebbiolo – warm rich spice, dried and fresh flowers, pure red and black cherry fruit, mushroom-truffle scents – the entire checklist of what makes this grape an aromatic party! The palate follows through in spades, with Nebbiolo’s signature nippy grip, managing to be lush in flavor and sleek in structure at the same time. Reverdito is a young Barolo producer based in La Morra. Their importer Weygandt-Metzler is at the top of the list of those to trust.
