2020 Clouston & Co Pinot Noir Marlborough

Winemaker Notes: Hand harvested from Brookby hill vineyard in the southern valleys of Marlborough. from windblown loess over clay soils. winemaking fermented in open-top stainless-steel tanks and hand plunged. the wine was then aged for 11 months in French oak barrels, 25% new. unfined and unfiltered. style medium bodied and savory. tasting the bouquet has lifted floral aromas of violets and wild thyme combined with red fruits and a savory earthiness. the palate has crushed raspberries and bright red cherry flavors interlaced with forest floor, coffee bean and bramble nuances. the wine has a focused frame and a spicy backbone. velvety tannins and firm structure will ensure this wine ages gracefully.
