2018 Ceretto Barolo Piedmont
Winemaker Notes: Although befitting Serralunga, this wine goes a step further than its western slope counterparts both in aromas, textures and flavors. It begins with darker and fleshier romas and distinctive balsamic notes. The texture in the mouth is unique, with finely grained tannins that accentuate, not overpower, the complex aromas and flavors. This is a wine that is surprisingly pleasing to enjoy young, but will be even more exciting, complex and revealing with age.
CRITICAL ACCLAIM
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - "The organic 2018 Barolo falls in line with vintage expectations with a very smooth and silky personality that caresses the palate. Dark rose, cherry and licorice cede to a polished, mid-weight palate."
James Suckling - "Very floral and attractive already on the nose. Bright and clean fruit on the palate with medium body, dusty and fine tannins and a chewy finish. Solid and age-able. From organically grown grapes. Very well made for the vintage. Best after 2024."
