2021 Drew 'The Fog-Eater' Pinot Noir Anderson Valley
Winemaker Notes: The Fog-Eater is Drew's classic Anderson Valley appellation Pinot Noir made with the intention of showcasing this northern coastal valley. The region's cooler temps preserve the tautness and energy in this classic coastal Pinot Noir. The nose and the palate lead with savory red fruit character ,cranberry and pomegranate specifically and a touch of sage and penny royal herbal notes. The finish is long with a lovely ethereal weight. A food wine. Still wound tight on release like a young rosebud which will open up with a little air and time. Give it a some time in your cellar to develop for optimal expression.
Pair with a wild mushroom risotto with a dusting of earthy parmigiano reggiano or a simple herbed roast chicken.
CRITICAL ACCLAIM
Vinous - "The 2021 Pinot Noir Fog Eater is a very pretty, delicate wine. Dark cherry, licorice, spice, leather and dried herbs lend notable savory and earthy complexity to this mid-weight, open-knit Pinot. All the elements are very nicely balanced. Best After 2024 "
