2022 Joel Gott Barrel-Aged Chardonnay Sonoma County

Winemaker Notes: Aromas of ripe pear and apple blossom with notes of honey. We sourced this Chardonnay from Sonoma County and Santa Barbara county to create this elegant, balanced wine. This wine is aged for 10 months in New French oak and Stainless Steel tanks.

Fruit from vineyards located in the cool, marine-influenced Los Carneros AVA and other coastal vineyards within Sonoma County experience little rainfall throughout the growing season allowing for the fruit to have a longer hangtime giving the wine its structure and crisp acidity. Within Santa Barbara County, vineyards located slightly more inland from the coast in the Santa Maria Valley and Sta. Rita Hills AVAs experience cool, foggy mornings with warmer afternoons adding concentration and minerality to the wine. Sourcing from these varied regions helps to create an elegant, fruit forward and balanced wine.
