2018 Domaine de La Perrière 'Megalithe' Sancerre
Winemaker Notes: The wine presents a yellow hue with lovely gray tints. The first aromatic notes expressed the wine’s terroir of origin and show a slight reduction, pronounced mineral tea, gunflint and pebblestone. Nice lingering aromas which all possess a wonderful purity. On entry to the palate, the wine is broad, powerful and tight, with a slight empyreumatic note. The palate also shows the stamp of the flint terroir, a lovely minimality and purity, which endows it with good length, elegance and freshness. An interesting wine from this very sunny 2018 vintage. Cellaring potential: 10—15 years.
This wine best accompanies the most refined of dishes, such as lobsters or prawns. After several years of ageing, it will be the ideal accompaniment to fried foie gras.
