Maurice Grumier 'Solera sur Bois' Extra Brut Champagne with Gift Box
Winemaker Notes: Since 2005, we have kept our old reserve wines from the 3 Champagne grape varieties in vats and barrels. Each year, these old wines are "refreshed" by 25% of young wines. This method, known as SOLÉRA, makes it possible to combine the aromatic complexity of old wines with the finesse of young wines. This great champagne comes exclusively from the best wines from this perpetual reserve aged in small oak barrels. This bottle, corked and stapled, then ages for many years in our cellars on its fine lees. Each bottle is presented in a chic and sober box. Reserve this bottle for the table and for the great moments of life...
Grower-producer Maurice Grumier has been a figure in the Marne Valley for nearly 300 years. They’ve sold fruit to established houses like Perrier-Jouet and Tattinger for years, and since 1924 they’ve created small quantities of some of the most characterful and delicious Champagnes found anywhere in the region
CRITICAL ACCLAIM
Wine Enthusiast - " This Champagne is based on a solera created in 2005, and wines from every year up to 2011 were gradually added. It now shows maturity, with touches of toastiness and good acidity at the end. Although it is dry, aging has softened the brisk fruit and given richness. The wine is ready to drink"
