2007 August Kesseler Spätlese 'Gold Cap' Riesling Rudesheimer Bischofsberg Rheingau 375ml
Tasting notes: This typical Riesling from the Valley Ruedesheimer Berg Schlossberg presents with exotic yellow fruits, flowery, vineyard peach with a hint of herbs. Sweetness are well balanced on the palate and give the wine a nice creaminess. The high minerality is typical for Ruedesheimer Berg Schlossberg and shows a long life for this Riesling
Vineyard: The grapes for August Kesseler’s Riesling “Rüdesheim Berg Schlossberg” come from our single vinyard sites Rüdesheim Berg Schlossberg. The sites in Rüdesheim are characterised through slate, quartzite, loess and loam.
Vinification: Our grapes are hand-picked and go through another selection process afterwards. Each parcel is vinified separately. Shortly before bottling we will assemble the cuvee. The 2007 vintag
Robert Parker - "Smells of peony, heliotrope, and ripe peach. Lush, richly ripe, subtly oily in texture and honeyed in cast, this inserts a prickly, botrytisinduced spiciness onto an otherwise cuddly, plush, buoyant palate. There is a lot of sheer sweetness to work off here and I would be inclined to give this opulent, rather static Riesling 8-10 years in the cellar before even revisiting; but it will almost certainly keep well for the better part of two decades."
