Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - "The 2013 Volnay 1er Cru Clos de la Bousse d’Or has a fragrant and more floral bouquet than the Caillerets at this early stage, nicely defined with blackcurrants and wild strawberry. The palate is medium-bodied, the fruit spectrum here more red with strawberry and raspberry notes, a dash of white pepper and a fine lattice of tannins on the refined finish. This is a lovely Volnay in the making: very pure and sensual. 91-93pts"


Burghound - "A deft if not invisible touch of wood frames the earthier and less elegant dark berry fruit aromas that lead to equally earthy medium-bodied flavors that possess a lovely minerality that adds lift to the more powerful and concentrated finish that exhibits a saline character. This attractively complex and persistent effort stops just short of being robust but it is still easily the biggest of these Volnay examples."


Vinous - "Medium red. A note of smoky reduction blew off to reveal open-knit aromas of wild strawberry and coffee. Sweet and densely packed, with red fruit and game flavors complicated and lifted by floral and pepper notes. Slightly dusty tannins are nicely supported by fruits and flowers on the back end."
